Welcome to the Hi Desert Adult Reading Experience web site.
The primary purpose of this organization is to
promote adult literacy, help raise funds, publicize the literacy
program, and recruit tutors and students in the California communities
of Victorville, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Adelanto, and Wrightwood.
Hi-D.A.R.E. provides free, confidential, one-on-one
tutoring to adults who are unable to use printed and written
information to function in society, in their community, at home, or in
the workplace.
The goal of this program is to raise the adult
learner's reading, writing, and/or arithmetic skills to a level of
functional literacy, in order to assist him/her in achieving his/her
goals and in developing his/her knowledge potential.
